Silktide is going away
Why are we changing?
Due to the costs associated with it and the number of people using the product, the decision was made to not renew our contract with Silktide. While we were very pleased with Silktide, ultimately the cost of the product compared to the number of people using it did not align.
What's Next?
Based on feedback from some of our Silktide users, the three most commonly used features were fixing broken links, spelling mistakes, and grammar corrections.
Before Silktide
Broken Links in Silktide
You could perform a scan of your site and Silktide would report a list of links that were broken.
Spelling Corrections in Silktide
Silktide will offer suggestions for spelling corrections on content after it has been published.
Grammar Corrections in Silktide
Silktide will offer suggestions for correcting and fixing grammar once a page is published, and scanned.
After Silktide
Broken Links after Silktide
We have updated our CMS so that it will automatically check your website for broken links. Once you publish a new page, it will automatically be scanned for broken links at the top of each hour. These pages are scanned in a first-in/first-out order. This process is automatically done! You will not need to do anything for this scan to occur.
If a broken link is found during the scan, a Problem Report will automatically be generated and submitted. Problem Reports are then emailed to the administrators of the site.
Spelling Corrections after Silktide
Our alternative solution is using the browser plugin Grammarly, as well as the automatic spell check within your web browser.
Grammar Corrections after Silktide
Our alternative solution is using the browser plugin Grammarly. Along with correcting spelling errors, Grammarly will offer suggestions in real time, prior to the page being published.
