GVSU Veterans History Project Presents: A Team of Their Own
"The documentary, A Team of Their Own, accurately and wonderfully recounts the history of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from its inception in early 1943 through the present. The use of period action clips, stills, and music, numerous player interviews, and in-depth historical sources, are artfully interwoven with the meticulous narrative. The documentary captures the league’s evolution, how well the players performed as professionals, what they enjoyed and endured, and what they gained from their league experiences. Player comments used to tell and embellish the league’s story also nostalgically convey how much the players loved, and loved to play, the game of baseball."
