Exhibitions

Visitors looking at artwork in the Gallery

The GVSU Art Museum curates exhibitions in two traditional galleries and three wall-mounted galleries, located on the Allendale and Pew Grand Rapids Campuses. Our PAC Gallery is in the Thomas J. and Marcia J. Haas Center for Performing Arts, featuring exhibitions throughout the academic year. The George and Barbara Gordon Gallery, in the Richard M. DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids campus, is open year-round. It features the work of Michigan artist Mathias Alten who lived and worked in Grand Rapids in the early 20th century.  Visit our galleries page to learn more about these locations.

Each semester we activate all our galleries with new exhibitions and offer events and resources that help guests engage with the work on display.

Student Exhibitions

Each semester, we work with faculty from Visual and Media Arts programs to facilitate exhibitions of student work to fulfill their graduation requirements.

Student Exhibitions

Each spring in the Kirkhof Center Wall Gallery we present a selection of visual and written works of art from the student-run publication fishladder. It is typically hosted in conjunction with Student Scholars Day (SSD), an event celebrating the scholarship, research, and creative work performed by GVSU students from the past year.
