Other Information

Visual supports are one of the evidence-based practices designated for individuals with autism but are also highly effective with ALL students. Visuals can be concrete items, pictures, photographs, symbols, and/or printed words. Discover the different ways that visual supports can be used for communication, organization, task completion and preparing for new situations that will increase independence and increase appropriate school behaviors. Many different
examples of various visual supports will be shared. Participants will use a tool to develop a plan for implementation of visuals in their school and practice teaching the use of them to students.
