1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
Since graduation, I accepted a job at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. I was at U-M for 4 years until I pivoted out of higher education to take a leadership role at an Edtech startup company. I lead our community engagement efforts to connect our global members with one another and to our company. This is the truncated version. My path has been nonlinear. I am a true liberal arts graduate. I always say, in truth and jest, “the good thing about a liberal arts degree one can do anything with it. The bad thing about a liberal arts a degree one can do anything with it.” I’m blessed for all of the experiences and to be where I am in my journey and what lies ahead.

2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
Presidents’ Ball will forever be a favorite memory of mine because I loved how the GVSU community came together for a wonderful night of celebration, recognition, and school pride.

3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received was “Don’t worry about being famous; focus on being effective because if you’re effective people will remember you.”

4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand Valley experience.
Transformative, enduring, formidable

5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
It’s not lost on me that I stand on the shoulders of giants. As doors are opening for me I want to bring as many people along with me.
