CLA 461 - Studies in the Classical Tradition
Examines the relationship between classical civilization and a specific region, period, or intellectual movement of the nonclassical world. Emphasis on how the classics and classical cultures were understood and exploited in different cultural environments such as medieval Spain, the Renaissance, the American Enlightenment, Modernism, or post-colonial Africa. May be repeated for credit when content varies. Offered fall semester in even-numbered years. Prerequisite: Junior standing.
