CHM 237 - Organic Chemistry for Life Sciences II Lecture

A continuation of CHM 235. Topics include nomenclature, organic transformations, mechanisms, stereochemistry, spectroscopy, oxidation and reduction reactions, and the chemistry of carbonyls, carboxylic acid derivatives, amines, and carbohydrates. This course emphasizes the importance and application of functional group organic chemistry in living systems. Offered every semester. Prerequisites: CHM 235, CHM 236, and CHM 238 (CHM 238 may be taken concurrently).
