Preprofessional Curriculum Course Requirements

One course in each of the following:

  • biochemistry*
  • general biology
  • general chemistry
  • human anatomy*
  • genetics
  • human physiology*
  • microbiology*
  • organic chemistry
  • physics
  • psychology
  • statistics

*This course must have been completed within five calendar years of the year of application. Applicants may take competency examinations for credit, however, these courses will not count toward the calculated GPAs. Waivers of the five-year rule may be granted on a case-by-case basis for candidates with documented academic excellence and appropriate clinical experience at the discretion of the admissions committee or the PAS program director.

  • The following courses must be completed by the time of application: anatomy, physiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and microbiology.

Professional Curriculum Course Recommendations**

One course in each of the following:

  • immunology
  • medical ethics
  • nutrition
  • pathophysiology
  • pharmacology

AND one lab course in:

  • human cadaver anatomy

**These courses have been found beneficial for success in the program, but are not required to apply.
