Norton Shores Police Chief Jon Gale retires after nine years at the helm

After serving 32 years in law enforcement, Norton Shores Police Chief Jon Gale is stepping down. He was appointed as chief of the Norton Shores Police Department in 2014. Prior to that, he served the department for 20 years as a patrol officer, narcotics and traffic investigator, administrative and patrol sergeant, and patrol lieutenant.
Gale earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and his master’s degree in public administration from GVSU - College of Education and Community Innovation.
