1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
After completing my undergraduate degree I started working for the Van Andel Research Institute, supporting a diverse team of researchers and doctoral candidates to advance their work on cancer research, particularly within the field of epigenetics. Following that experience, I took the lessons of innovation and curiosity and applied them to the fitness and wellness industry working for a start-up. The fast pace and entrepreneurial spirit were exciting, but my favorite part was helping others be their best self, and challenge them to learn, know, and do better. With that, I returned to GVSU for my Master's in Higher Education so I could help others challenge themselves and be a support resource that all learners need.

2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
I'm a bit of a nerd, so my favorite memories were always in the classrooms. Particularly in my capstone coursework where we would have great conversations and debate about big issues. The small classes and engaging professors made these learning experiences memorable and exciting.

3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right. It's a quote by Henry Ford, but so many of my mentors have reiterated the message in their own way. Ultimately, trust yourself but push your comfort zone - you'll land safely in the end.

4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand Valley experience.
Supportive, engaging, personalized.

5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I hope to continue to work in education in one way or another, helping others access continued and higher education to reap the benefits it offers, personally and professionally.
