Speech Lab Consultants are Repeat National Champs

The GVSU Speech Lab folks, once again, are national champions in the undergraduate and graduate research paper categories at the 2019 National Association of Communication Centers conference. The NACC's Huddy-Gunn Outstanding Graduate Research Award was made to Jeannine Lane and Vivian Niestrom (Viv is an undergrad but if a grad student is an author the paper goes to this competition). The paper was titled, “Understanding Relationship Development at the Center: Taking a Second Look”. The NACC's Bob and Ann Weiss Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award went to Hannah Karwat and Dominc Cassisi. Their paper was called, “Communication Deficiencies in STEM Fields: Technology, Students, and Professionals”
This is the second year in a row GVSU has won the graduate award (second overall win in this competition). This is the third year in a row GVSU has won the undergraduate award (fourth win overall). 13 national awards are now associated with the GV Speech Lab and have established our place firmly atop the world of communication center service and scholarship.
