1. Equity in Learning: Review the data from the General Education learning outcomes assessment

from the previous two cycles to determine whether they reveal demographic differences in student

learning outcomes and make recommendations. 

 

2. Teaching about Systemic Racism: Review recommendations made by GEC standing committee regarding

teaching about systemic racism and make recommendations.

 

3. Review of DEI-AB Framework: Review the university’s DEI-AB framework and make recommendations to

ECS. Report to ECS on the rollout of the online DEI staff training module.

 

4. Equity in  Faculty Service Loads: Review faculty service loads and make recommendations toward increased

equity. Consider service loads by number of years at the university.

 

5. Leadership Trainings : Review Academic Impressions Training and make recommendations for people in leadership positions.

 

6. Relationship with AALT: Collaborate with the Activation and Accountability Leadership Team to make recommendations about ElC's relationship with ALLT.

 

7. Mid-Year Report and Year-End Report: In an effort to engage more faculty in our shared governance system, prepare a 1–2-page mid-year progress report at the end of the Fall semester to be disseminated to ECS/UAS and College Deans (a full report is expected as usual at the end of the year).

 

8. New charge added mid-October 2024: 

"Evaluate the impact on faculty/staff retention, equity, and recruitment of faculty and staff at institutions that offer benefits for fertility treatments."

9.  Second added charge mid-November 2024

"Collaborate with VP Robert Shorty and his team to ensure alignment between/with Academic Affairs and university goals and vision.”

 

This year a new process for the mid-year report is being rolled out: A form with rubrics to fill in will be sent from the ECS to this Committee.
