Lake Huron Hall, constructed in 1963, is one of the University’s first lecture halls.  This academic building is currently home to the Classics and English departments and houses classroom, lecture, student study, and faculty and professional support staff spaces.

The renovation of Lake Huron Hall has included the following new spaces: 7 classrooms, 4 conference rooms (1 of which can be used as an 8th classroom), 7 student study spaces, 2 departmental suites, 43 faculty offices, 4 restrooms, a gender neutral restroom, a nursing mothers space, a vending area, an elevator, various support spaces, and new furnishings, architectural finishes, roof, windows, elevator, electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC and fire alarm systems.

Minor prep work took place in the summer of 2019.  The full renovation effort began January 2020 and was complete August 2020.

The budget for the Lake Huron Hall renovation project was $9,100,000.  Consistent with University practices, this renovation project was designed and constructed to LEED® standards.

Century A&E was selected as the architect and engineer, and Pioneer Construction was selected as the project construction manager/constructor.
