Undergraduate GLISA Research positions

Titled “Elevating Youth Leadership And Peer-Learning To Support
Climate Adaptation In West
Michigan Lakeshore Frontline
Communities (ELF)”. Both positions will start this month and can
be
renewed every semester, including summer, through the end of
December 2025. Two outstanding
students selected as GLISA
Researchers would work under supervision of Professors Elena
Lioubimtseva
and Kin Ma and engage in collaboration with GVSU
Regional Math and Science Center, Muskegon
Community College, and
the West Michigan Environmental Action Council. Benefits include a
competitive hourly rate, increasing each semester, flexible remote
work schedule, and an optional
opportunity for a paid summer
internship at the WMEAC.
Required qualifications:
• Full-time undergraduate studies at
GVSU. Open to all majors.
• Strong interest in climate change,
education, justice, and youth leadership.
• Excellent
communication and organizational skills.
Desired criteria:
•
Outstanding written communication and attention to detail.
•
Background in secondary education and/or geography or environmental
science or studies.
• Community college experience would be a plus
but not required.
• Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
(BIPOC), women, and LGBTQ candidates are strongly
encouraged to
