Hello! My name is Haley Powers and this is my third year here at Grand Valley. Last year I previously served on the Overnights Committee, and this year I am currently the Honors Student Council president! I am majoring in Cell & Molecular Biology with minors in Chemistry and Criminal Justice. After I graduate, I hope to work as a forensic scientist for a crime lab. Outside of academics, I love to collect vinyl records, read, follow up on true crime, and spend time with friends and family.

Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Sniegowski and I am a third year student here at Grand Valley State University. I am studying Allied Health Sciences with an emphasis in Pre-Physician Assistant Studies. My goal is to one day become a Physician's Assistant, either in family practice or pediatrics. On the Honors Student Council, I am the Vice President of the Welcome Days Committee! I am also a member of the Pre-PA club. In my free time, I work as a pharmacy technician, and I love spending time with my friends and family, and going to the gym.

Hi, I am Alaina DeRose! My major is Biomedical science with a minor in Psychology. I am on the Overnight Committee for the Honors Student Council. I am graduating in the Spring of 2026 and plan to go to graduate school for genetic counseling. Outside of HSC, I am on board for the Genetic Counseling Club at GV and one of the Technical Directors for STAGE, a theatre organization on campus. I also like to cook, watch movies, play games and sing badly in my car with friends.

Hi, my name is Jaclyn :) I am a junior majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a Pre-PA emphasis. I am part of the programming committee on the Honors Student Council and I am so excited to help plan events for the honors community again! Outside of HSC, I am the financial officer for the GVSU Gymnastics Club, member of the Pre-PA Club, and I also work as a lab assistant on the downtown health campus.

Hello everyone! My name is Lucy, and I am currently a sophomore at GVSU majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience and minoring in Studio Art with a Pre-PA emphasis. This year, I am a part of the programming committee for the Honors Student Council. Outside of school, I am working as a nurse aide, and I am heavily involved with Campus Ministry as a student leader. Whenever I have free time, I like to volunteer in the costume department at GVSU performing arts center, I also like to workout at the rec center, read books and do arts and crafts as well.

Hey everyone! My name is Braylond Price and I am a second year student here  at Grand Valley State University. My major is Public & Nonprofit Administration, and I am double minoring in Political Science and Hospitality and Tourism Management. I am also involved in Move 2 the Beat Hip Hop Dance, Honors Familia, Honors Affinity Alliance, and Students Leaving a Mark (SLAM). This is my first year on the Honors Student Council and I am on the Programming Committee and serve as the Honors Affinity Alliance Liaison. In my freetime I enjoy dancing, going to musicals, planting, shopping, and hanging out with my friends and family!

I am majoring in biochemistry and plan to pursue a PhD and start my career in research. Other activities I am involved in include Chemistry Club, where I am the membership officer, the Rifle & Pistol Club, and getting engaged with undergraduate research on campus! Outside of classes, I like to hike, rock climb, spend time with friends and my dog Peanut, read, and have movie nights :)

Hello! My name is Will Schreck. I am currently a second year mechanical/biomedical engineer, also on a pre-med track to hopefully become a Cardiologist somewhere in near my hometown City, Chicago. On the Honors Student Council, I am a part of the Welcome Days Committee.

I am looking to do future research further into some field in physics, as physics is one of the only sciences that interests me the most. In my free time, I do a lot of hiking, photography, and exercise.

I plan on being an English high school teacher after I graduate. I am Vice president of the Baking club, a member of the Campus Activities Board, and a member of the Thompson Scholars Organization. Hello, I am Owen Kirkpatrick, a sophomore at Grand Valley pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. I currently serve as the president of the Triangle fraternity and work on campus as the Digital Studies Lab Manager. I very much enjoy being involved on campus and have attended a variety of clubs at different times. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, reading, volunteering, playing and listening to music, and video games. I am on the overnights committee in the honor’s student council.

Hi, my name is Hayden Freed and I am currently in my junior year at Grand Valley. This is my first year on the Honors Student Council and I am currently a part of the Overnights committee. I am majoring in Statistics with a minor in Business and an Actuarial Science emphasis. I am hoping to become an actuary in the future. I am also involved with the Aspiras Foundation club as the financial officer and a part of Euchre Club. In my free time, I love trying new restaurants, Target runs, and spending time with my friends.
