Employment Extensions/Renewals
Notice
Human Resources is no longer requiring or sending an Adjunct AP (Salaried or PAP) appointment letter for extensions/renewals. This is due to the level of approvals and information housed within Workday that is accessible to those involved.
Adjunct/Temporary Appointment Extension
Extensions are continuous appointments for the same job. If the job responsibilities have changed, this is no longer an appointment extension and would need to follow the Job Management hiring process. To extend an Adjunct AP or Temporary hourly appointment, please follow the job change process outlined in the job aid below.
Affiliate/Visiting Faculty Contract Renewal
To renew an Affiliate Faculty or Visiting Faculty contract, please follow the job change process outlined in the Workday job aid.
One-Time Payments
One-Time Pay for New Hire
If your department has a one-time payment for someone who has never worked at GVSU or is a returning employee, it is a different process than a normal one-time payment. To complete a one-time pay for a new hire, please start by creating a job requisition using the job management process (See Step 1 under 'Position Preparation'). Follow the job management process as outlined on the website.
Note:
- This payment will be treated like a period activity pay (used to pay a lump-sum over a period of time).
- When an appointment letter is generated, use the verbiage that is inserted specific to one-time pays and remove the unnecessary language.
- Human Resources will process the one-time payment once submitted.
