Brenda joined the GVSU Payroll team in October 2012. As the Payroll Manager, her duties include overseeing the process of the biweekly and semi-monthly payrolls, balancing each payroll’s taxes and initiating tax payments, reconciling benefit invoices for health and dental insurance, and overseeing local tax compliance and the International Glacier system for 1042 forms for GVSU International Students. Prior to working at GVSU, Brenda worked for Catholic Charities West Michigan (Senior Accountant) and Fifth Third Bank (Senior Retirement Plan Analyst). She has more than 15 years of payroll and benefits experience.

Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, an MBA from Davenport University, and received her Certified Payroll Professional designation in 2015. She is active in the local chapter of the American Payroll Association and has held several leadership roles.
