Kristen Evans, a longtime Laker, joined the HR team in December 2022 after 14 years in Housing & Residence Life. During her time in housing, she worked as a Living Center Director, Occupancy Manager, and Assistant Director. Now as an HR Generalist, Kristen supports the HR organizational needs of the Division of Student Affairs, University Development, University Relations, the Division of Educational Innovations & School Services, Student Affairs, Athletics, and the Art Gallery. Kristen’s professional experience includes staff recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, performance management, and employee relations. Appointed as one of Grand Valley’s two MI-ACE representatives, she also serves on the leadership team of the Women’s Commission.
Kristen earned a BA in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University and a MA in Adult & Higher Education from GVSU. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys yoga, theater, reading, and cheering on Laker Football with her husband and three children.
