Become part of a growing nonprofit organization empowering individuals with disabilities to learn, grow, and celebrate through the arts. ACT’s Community Programs & Events Intern will have the opportunity to in all aspects of event planning and programming associated with ACT’s Community Programs: planning creative and accessible art activities, supporting students and visitors, volunteer management, and assisting with set-up and tear-down for events.
Academic credit available.
Fall opportunities include:
- WE ARE ALL Auction (ACT’s largest annual fundraiser featuring live and silent auction, typically attended by 200+ guests at the Goei Center)
- School Partnership Programs (in-studio and in-school art programs for students with disabilities, including artist residencies, early childhood programming, and more)
- Open Studio Events
- Community Concerts featuring ACT’s Choir & Drum Troupe
Qualifications
- Program support required: must be available to support in-person during some weekly programs
- Administrative support required: must be available for some in-person office hours
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Passionate about the mission of ACT, the arts/cultural community, and offering accessible programs for people with disabilities
- Must have reliable transportation for travel throughout Greater Grand Rapids and neighboring counties
- Must clear a background check
- Some standing and lifting required
