Outdoor Climbing & Camping

This course introduces hands-on climbing activities on various styles of climbing, equipment/ safety, etiquette, and movement with an emphasis on experience over skill mastery. Students will explore a variety of topics while on an extended weekend climbing trip. Maximizing climb-time means camping at or near the climbing area in a modern campground with instruction provided.

This class meets three times in-person before taking a weekend trip to the climbing sites and camping.  These classes are scheduled in Banner.  The weekend trip is planned for September 12 through 14, 2025.  September 19 through 21, 2025, will be used in case of weather delay.  Students must be able to travel on both of the following weekend dates.  No experience necessary.  All equipment provided.  An additional course fee of $90 is required to cover transportation, lodging, and camp meals.
