Past Studies
"Whatever projects the institution undertakes, it is essential that these be carefully done, well-publicized, and well monitored. Hopefully, specific projects and on-going evaluation will become a routine part of life at GVSU, this serving as a model for the rest of American higher education" (1994 GVSU Women's Climate Study, Consultant's Report). Grand Valley has conducted climate studies/surveys for nearly 25 years. Many of the programs, initiatives, and policy changes related to diversity and inclusion at GVSU have been informed by past climate studies/surveys:
The GVSU Women's Climate Study for students, faculty, and staff was administered in 1994.
The GVSU Women's Climate Study II for students, faculty, and staff was administered in 2000.
The GVSU Diversity Study for students, faculty, and staff was administered in 2005:
The myGVSU Survey for students, faculty, and staff was administered in 2011.
The myGVSU Climate Survey 2015 for students, faculty, and staff was the university’s fifth climate survey.
The myGVSU Climate Survey 2019 for students, faculty, and staff was the university’s sixth climate survey.
The myGVSU Climate Survey 2021 for students, faculty, and staff was the university’s seventh climate survey, administered by the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium.
