Kevin Gibson '25
Kevin Gibson is currently a student at Grand Valley State University, pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management (OSH). After transferring to GVSU following his freshman year, Kevin initially aimed to study Nutrition. However, he soon realized that his true passion lay in helping people directly by promoting safety in the workplace. This led him to discover the OSH program, which perfectly aligned with his desire to make a meaningful impact on others' well-being.
One of Kevin's favorite aspects of the OSH program is the strong sense of community, with deep connections between students and faculty. He values the real-world learning experiences provided through site tours and internships, which have allowed him to see firsthand how safety practices are applied across different industries. Kevin is also excited by the plethora of opportunities in the field, knowing there are countless ways to make a difference in the world of workplace safety.
Kevin has gained valuable experience through internships at IKO Pacific, a leading shingle manufacturer, and at Eaton Aerospace, a global leader in aviation technologies. These experiences have helped him develop a strong foundation in industrial safety, and he continues to learn and grow in his current internship.
After graduation, Kevin plans to pursue a career where he can contribute to improving workplace safety and ensuring the safety of others. He’s passionate about finding a job in the field where he can make a real impact, knowing that every day in this line of work brings an opportunity to protect people and create safer environments.
