Thank you to Hexarmor for hosting our Health and Safety Techniques class earlier this month!

Our students had an opportunity to tour their testing lab, meet with product specialists and hear about the origins of the company and their injury prevention success stories! Shout out to Amber Ginop and Katherine McCarthy for helping setup this opportunity!

Recently, our Principles of Industrial Hygiene students had the opportunity to participate in visits to 3 facilities in the Grand Rapids area. On November 2nd, they visited GNS America and were hosted by GVSU OSH alum Mekonnen Beraki. We are so lucky to have a great network of alumni and local partners that allow us to provide these unique and wonderful experiences to our students!

GVSU Occupational Safety & Health students had the opportunity to partake in hands on assessments of air contaminants with several different companies including Schul Coffee, W. Soule, Tiara Yachts, and Cooper Standard. Assessments consisted of observations, air sampling, analysis of results, and report writing. Students learned valuable skills and provided a quality service for employers.

Recently, our Construction Safety students had the opportunity to spend some time with Rockford Construction on one of their construction sites! The students learned about the safety practices that are in place on their many sites throughout West Michigan. Thank you to OSH Alums Marissa Alverson and Alex Rautio for leading our students on this wonderful opportunity!
