Mentors: Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know if I am a Faculty Mentor?
A: Once a student has registered online for Student Scholars Day, you will receive an email indicating that your have been listed as their mentor. While filling out their registration, they are asked to include their mentor's e-mail address.
Q: I got the e-mail mentioned above...now what?
A: This e-mail will contain a link for you to follow. From there, you will be asked to login. Please login using your GVSU login and password (the first Username and Password you use when you start up your computer on campus).
Q: I tried to login, but it wouldn't let me! What should I do?
A: If you have entered your login and password information correctly, please send an email to [email protected]. Technology can be frustrating, but we are trying to make this as painless as possible!
Q: My student said that I was their mentor, but I never received an e-mail.
A: Few things: The "user quarantine" could have picked it up as spam, so be sure to check those messages. Second, your student could have accidentally mistyped your e-mail address. We can easily check to see if your student registered your e-mail incorrectly. Please send us a message at [email protected] and we can look into it and resend you the mentorship e-mail with the link.
Q: I deleted my email. How else can I login?
A: You can also find a link to the registration system on the SSD Registration Process webpage.
