Types of Presentations
Presentations and exhibits are either Student initiated (the student completes the registration form and faculty mentor endorses the presentation) or Faculty initiated and curated (Faculty create a presentation or exhibit and invite students to present). The types of presentations are noted below:
Student initiated presentations
- In-Person Poster/Portfolio (Displayed all day: presenter chooses one hour to stand by poster for Q&A)
- Virtual Oral (Recorded 20-25 minute presentation on hosting site)
- In-Person Oral (20-25 minute presentation including q/a)
- Film/video (20-60 minutes)
- Live Performance (20-60 minutes)
Faculty initiated/ curated sessions and exhibits
- In-Person Session (1 hour, faculty mentor initiated: a set of oral presentations around a general theme, but not intentionally linked, ex. a group of students presenting on their research in the PSY Dpt, or a group of students presenting on a general theme such as sustainability)
- Virtual Session (1 hour, faculty mentor initiated: a set of oral presentations around a general theme, but not intentionally linked, ex. a group of students presenting on their research in the PSY Dpt, or a group of students presenting on a general theme such as sustainability. The faculty mentor will moderate the session and will host the session through their platform of choice, i.e. ZOOM, etc.)
- In-Person Extended Session (up to 8 hours, faculty mentor initiated: This presentation type is similar to a traditional session, however extended sessions are longer in length. The extended session was created to accommodate classes and departments that need additional time beyond one hour)
- Virtual Extended Session (up to 8 hours, faculty mentor initiated: This presentation type is similar to a traditional session, however extended sessions are longer in length. The extended session was created to accommodate classes and departments that need additional time beyond one hour. The faculty mentor will moderate the session and will host the session through their platform of choice, i.e. ZOOM, etc.)
- Faculty Curated 2D or 3D Exhibit (A Faculty Curated Exhibit is coordinated by a faculty member who invites students' art into the exhibit)
