I spent the majority of my time at GVSU serving as a Multicultural Assistant and being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. A specific memory was traveling to Alabama in 2001 for the Football National Championship with my good friend Yolan

It's been incredible to see the campus' growth over the past 36 years and remember back to what it used to be. My spouse and I met my senior year, and my son met his wife also at GVSU.

My favorite GV memories are working as the Graduate Assistant for the School of Communications and working closely with Dr. Penning.

Because our graduation and social work hooding and pinning ceremonies were canceled due to COVID-19, my favorite memory would have to be our virtual celebration and Zoom toast in the social work department.

I have quite a few good memories at Grand Valley. My absolute favorite memory was studying abroad in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 2009 and 2010. I also loved being a Resident Assistant allowing me to meet lots of wonderful and interesting people.

I was sitting in Devos C prepping for class and T. Haas happened to be passing through. He stopped in the middle of the walkway and yelled, "Good luck on your finals, Lakers!" and continued on his way. Devos went nuts - everyone started clapping.

The years have changed most of my memories into fond ones, including walking from my dorm to my class with wet hair that was frozen solid by the time I crossed Little Mac.

My favorite memory is probably a collection of memories that I have while working as a dispatcher at the Grand Valley Police Department. I have life-long friends that I met there, I've even officiated two weddings for friends I met at the dispatch desk.

I remember one weekend, they went around to each room and forced us to go to the football game. I had the best time despite not wanting or planning to go!

I'm a bit of a nerd, so my favorite memories were always in the classrooms. Particularly in my capstone coursework where we would have great conversations and debate about big issues.
