The Bellamy Creek Program (BCP) offers a Bachelor's Degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration to GVSU students incarcerated at the Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan. While this program builds on a long history of "education behind bars" by GVSU faculty, it is the first to enroll incarcerated students at the university and offer them a fully accredited undergraduate degree. Thanks to the collaboration of dozens of staff and faculty across GVSU, the BCP will offer students -- who primarily come from underserved communities -- a comprehensive, trauma-informed range of services to assist them during and after the program, at no cost to them. Classes will begin in fall 2024.
