In 2019, 208 Kirkhof College of Nursing BSN pre-licensure students took
the Critical Thinking Entrance Proctored Assessment upon entering the
nursing program. The composite score among these students was 76% while
the national mean was 68%.
Outcome 2 BSN BSN 2: Basic Organizational and Systems Leadership for Quality Care and Patient Safety
BSN students apply knowledge and skills in leadership, quality
improvement, and patient safety to ensure the delivery of high quality
health care.

within the context of the interprofessional team.

2019 Findings: Clinical Immersion Aggregated Average Percentage = 95.02%
(N=213 BSN students from the traditional, second degree, and RN to BSN
programs). This finding was 2.5 percentage points lower than the 2018
aggregated finding of 97.5% (N=203) but remained 10.02 percentage points
above the target. This finding supports student ability to demonstrate
leadership and communication skills to effectively implement patient
safety and quality improvement initiatives within the context of the
interprofessional team.

2018 Findings: Clinical Immersion Aggregated Average Percentage = 97.1%
(N=203 BSN students from the traditional, second degree, and RN to BSN
programs). This finding was 3.1 percentage points higher than the 2017
aggregated finding of 94% (N=199). This finding supports student ability
to demonstrate leadership and communication skills to effectively
implement patient safety and quality improvement initiatives within the
context of the interprofessional team.
