Student Outcomes

Assessment of Student Outcomes

Outcome Q Geospatial technology competency (geospatial emphasis and GIST certificate-specific outcome)

Students will demonstrate knowledge of the core concepts and principles in geospatial technologies.
Objective 13 Students will demonstrate knowledge of the core concepts and principles in geospatial technologies.

Measure 1

2018 Status
Achieved
The class has achieved the threshold value on average. 3 studnets performed below the expected threshold value and 5 students met the target value of 4.

Measure 2

2017 Status
Achieved
All students in all sections of GPY307 (6 sections) taught by 3 different faculty members were assessed in Fall 2016, Winter 2017, and Fall 2017. All faculty used the same type of assignments (GIS project) to collect assessment data. The target value 4 applies to the entire GIST certificate and th expected threshold value 2 is expected as from all students, who complete GPY307.

Objective 14 Students will demonstrate mastery of spatial analysis techniques and procedures.
Objective 15 Students will demonstrate skills in the use of geospatial technologies in environmental, social and economic analysis and decision-making

Measure 1

2019 Status
Achieved
Students will demonstrate mastery of spatial analysis techniques and procedures. Outcome Q: Geospatial technology competency . Class average surpasses threshold value (3.5 vs 3). However, individual student learning outcomes vary.
