Average scores have decreased. We assume this is - at least, in part -
due to COVID (online / hybrid programming), inability to immerse
students in community settings during COVID. We aim to revisit and
rebuild our community engagement programs in order to bolster student
civic learning and increased SLO scores.

This assessment is no longer being utilized by Alternative Breaks, per a
decision made by AB student executive board.

Several Alternative Breaks executive board members completed a pre (in
Jan 2018) and post (in April 2018) leadership statement, reflecting on
their understanding and practice of leadership. The AAC&U VALUE
Rubric for Leadership will be used to assess student leadership growth.
Because of the small sample size, we will not be scoring these
assessments - but will begin next year (2018-19) with the requirement
that all AB executive board members complete pre and post statements,
which will be reviewed and assessed for growth.
