Outcome 1 Knowledge of Key Concepts

Students will have knowledge of key concepts central to the field of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
Objective 1 Students will be able to evaluate the politics of intersectionality.

Achieved
WGS faculty has improved student understanding of the key concept of intersectionality. In 2019 73% of the students scored a 3 or better which represents a significant improvement over the 2018 when only 33% scored a 3 or better.

2018 Status
Not Yet Achieved
The 2018 assessment indicates that 33% of students scored a 3 or better on a 4 point scale. This is an improvement from the baseline of 30% but has not met the target of 45%

The number of students scoring a 3 or better is still below target.

Outcome 2 Critical Thinking (undergraduate)

Use systematic reasoning to examine and evaluate information and ideas and then synthesize conclusions to propose new perspectives and solutions.

Information literacy remains an important part of the WGS curriculum. The target of 80% achieving a 2 or better has been met.

Achieved
100% of students in WGS 495 W18 scored a 2 or better. Students in the Capstone course (WGS 495) are able to evaluate the quality and usefulness of WGS related information and scholarship.

Write effectively for multiple purposes and audiences.
