Graduates of Art Education will effectively communicate verbally with a public audience across a variety of contexts.

ART 332 Introduction to Art Education students presented to 23 special needs students from the area. Utilizing a video recording of the presentations, the students and instructor were able to review and critique their performance. 75% achieved the "Satisfies" (highest) rating, while 25% received the "Progressing" rating, while 0% received the "Baseline" (lowest) rating.

Outcome ART_EDU:B Critical Thinking

Graduates of Art Education will use systematic reasoning to examine and evaluate information and ideas and then synthesize conclusions to propose new perspectives and solutions to current K-12 art education curriculum and related issues.
Objective 1 Students in ART 335 will be able to use systematic reasoning to examine and evaluate information and ideas and then synthesize their conclusions to propose new perspectives and solutions.

Students in ART 335 Digital Creativity were assigned a series of studio and research assignments where they students learn to generate creative ideas, explore different techniques, and develop digital research projects that communicate their ideas. Emphasis is placed on understanding creative theories and practices in art education. Using the Critical Thinking rubric, 100% of the students scored in the mid to high range. 0% scored in the lowest category.

Outcome ART_EDU:C Information Literacy

Graduates of Art Education will be able to identify, access, evaluate, and synthesize multiple forms of information related to K-12 art education.
Objective 1 Students in ART 333 will learn how to apply assessment strategies to examine childrens artwork through various methods of inquiry.

Outcome ART_EDU:D Problem Solving

Graduates of Art Education will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions with regard to curriculum related issues in K-12 art education.
Objective 1 Students in ART 333 will be able to develop and present appropriate lesson plans for carrying out the K-12 art curriculum.

Outcome ART_EDU:E Problem Solving

Graduates of Art Education will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions to digital media projects for K-12 education.
Objective 1 Students in ART 335 will develop concepts for digital media projects (e.g., research blogging, diagrams, concept maps, video, imagery, text, etc.) that facilitate exploration of issues that are of personal and social significance in the real world.

Outcome ART_EDU:F Information Literacy

Graduates of Art Education will be able to identify, access, evaluate, and synthesize multiple forms of information in relation to K-12 art education issues and curriculum.
Objective 1 Students in ART 332 will understand and apply important trends in child and adolescent development and learning theories in art education

Outcome ART_EDU:G Integration

Graduates of Art Education will be able to synthesize and apply knowledge, experiences, and multiple perspectives to new, complex situations in relation to K-12 art education issues and curriculum.
Objective 1 Students in ART 333 will demonstrate their ability to identify basic developmental stages exhibited in the artwork of students of various ages.

Graduates of Art Education will be able to write effectively for multiple purposes and audiences, especially those related to K-12 art education curriculum and issues.
Objective 1 Students in ART 332 will discuss and research important figures in the history of art education and their impact current art education practices.
