Graduate Research Assistant: Dysphagia Simulation Labs
Hello! My name is Hailey Deptula. I graduated from GVSU in 2023 with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders including additional studies in Spanish, Aging and Adult Life, and Medical/Health Humanities. Within the field my primary areas of interest are dysphagia, neurodegenerative disorders, oncology care, and interprofessional collaboration. Outside of academics you can find me exploring local coffee shops, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. I am grateful to be continuing my time with the Voice and Swallowing Lab team.
Neat fact: my own experience with dysphagia is what sparked my interest in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Hello! My name is Katelyn PIesko. I am a senior at GVSU studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with an emphasis in American Sign Language. My main interests within the field include dysphagia, aphasia, and pediatric language disorders. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family!
