Curriculum & Advising Changes with Workday

What's Changing

How It Is Now

How It Will Be In Workday

Improved academic planning

Academic planning is not heavily utilized in myPath.

Workday academic planning allows students and advisors to build plans for future semesters and will allow students to register from those plans.

Clarity on cross-listed and co-located courses

Cross-listed codes are used for both cross-listed and co-located classes.

Potential flexibility with setting up cross-listed and co-located classes.

What's Not Changing in Curriculum & Advising?

  • Blackboard Ultra remain in place as the faculty/student LMS.
  • CourseDog will remain in place for course section scheduling.
  • EAB Navigate will remain in place for advising notes, appointments, advising tools, etc. However, functionality is being evaluated in Workday to determine if it could be a future solution.

Current Priorities for Curriculum & Advising

  • Degree Auditing Tool: Building degree requirements in the Academic Progress Report (APR) to determine functionality
  • Decision to be made: Will GV utilize the APR in Workday or will we continue to use DegreeWorks (myPath)?
