Workday Learning

Workday Learning is a full learning management system going beyond only registration and supports the delivery of online, in-person, or hybrid courses and programs. It also serves as the hub for all course related content and materials.​ 

Access Learning within Workday: type "Learning" in the search bar and select the Learning Task.

What does Workday Learning mean for GVSU?​

  • Replaces prior registration-only system, Sprout, while offering more robust functionality (sunset date of Sprout is TBD).
  • Streamlines where employees will find learning events/offerings, that can be curated into individual learning and development plans.​ 
  • Enhanced tracking and record retention of course completion.​

Who is involved?​

Workday Learning Administrator: Human Resources​ 

Content Creators:  

  • Individuals who will create courses or learning content will be considered Content Creators.
  • Content Creators currently exist within the Division of Inclusion and Equity, Pew Faculty Teaching and Learning Center, Environmental Health and Safety, Student Employment, eLearning, Project Management Office, etc. 
  • The Content Creator security role is available to any other areas interested in delivering learning content to our campus community.

Learning Partners:  

  • Individuals who will have functions associated with administration of learners relative to their content areas will be considered Learning Partners.


When is Workday Learning available to users?​

  • July 2024: Content Creators will begin curating a library of content within Workday 
  • August 12, 2024: Campus community gains access to begin registering and taking training offerings within the system.​


FAQs

How do I become a Learning Partner or Learning Coordinator? 
Please contact Natalie Trent or Kaitlyn Boyko. (Requests may be made via Workday Help beginning in late August 2024.) 

Do I have to use Workday for event registration, or can I use a CMS form? 
CMS Form Builder may continue to be used for simple event registration, such as social and networking events. Workday Learning will be used for registration and delivery of training and learning content. 

Will Workday Learning replace Blackboard?
Blackboard will continue to be used for courses for students. There isn’t a connection or integration between Blackboard and Workday Learning.
