Workday Peakon

The GVSU faculty and staff engagement survey will launch this winter, administered through Peakon in Workday. Peakon will administer surveys to faculty and staff to identify areas for diversity and inclusion efforts, turnover causes, and changing wellness needs.

Leadership and Human Resources will be able to view aggregate results to develop action plans.


What does Workday Peakon mean for GVSU?​

The Workday Peakon faculty and staff engagement survey provides:

  • Use of latest technology to provide real-time insights
  • An opportunity to identify areas where diversity and inclusion, wellness, or engagement efforts can be directed

Why are we doing a faculty and staff engagement survey?

Our vision is that GVSU is:

  • An attractive and great place to work
  • An institution with which faculty and staff feel fully engaged
  • A culture where everyone’s voice is heard and concerns are addressed in the same way that we listen to and address our students’ feedback
  • Management that listens and responds-fast
  • A workplace that uses digital tools to empower faculty and staff with real-time information that reflects the ‘pulse’ of GVSU.

What types of questions will be asked and what happens after the survey?

  • Faculty and staff may respond to Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellbeing and Transformation and Change questions within their survey
  • Managers and leaders will then be able to review results within a dedicated section of the dashboard
  • Scores, strengths & priorities, and suggested actions will be calculated and presented in a similar way to their engagement dashboard
  • Managers and leaders will be able to read comments and it may be appropriate to seek guidance from HR / senior leaders where comments are more sensitive or require additional input
  • The survey will be repeated each quarter to gather timely feedback

FAQs

Are my survey responses confidential?
Yes, responses are viewed by HR & leaders in aggregate form. Leaders will only see results for their team if at least 5 of their faculty / staff respond to the survey.

I'm a leader and I can't view my results because my team is too small or not enough faculty / staff completed the survey. Is there a way I can get an idea of my team's engagement?
Yes, connect with your leader and seek to understand the results for their teams, which will include any responses from your team.
