The specific mission of the ISC is part of, and directly supports the broader missions of GVSU and the AWRI.

 

ISC Vision Statement

As a result of the ISC's efforts, decisions made in west Michigan will be better informed by scientific information for sustaining the health of its environment and the welfare of its residents. The ISC will represent a vital forum for the active sharing of information, insights, and ideas about the sustainability of the community's natural resources.

At the same time, the ISC will inspire actions that result in natural resources that are clean and vibrant, providing outstanding recreational opportunities, supporting wildlife, and benefiting the region's economy.
