Surplus Store Payment Methods
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) as well as checks are acceptable payment methods offered at GVSU Surplus Store. State of Michigan 6% sales tax is added to the total to all purchases unless a valid tax exempt certificate is provided at the time of sale. We are no longer accepting cash.
Please Note: We are now accepting the use of GVSU Expense Cards and ISD transfers for payment. Please contact us if you have any questions on these payment method options.
Purchasing Items by ISD Transfer
If you would like to use your department's budget to purchase items from the Surplus Store, please contact a Surplus Store staff member by calling (616) 331-9072 or emailing [email protected].
An ISD Order Form will be required to complete the order. When filling out the form, make sure to include the online item numbers (SKU: XX-XXX) of the items you would like to purchase. Please note, purchases are subject to item availability.
Surplus Store staff will initiate an Internal Service Delivery in Workday to bill your department for the charges.
GVSU Expense Cards
If you would like to shop online using your GVSU issued expense card, your account must be set up for tax exemption.
- Go to www.gvsusurplusstore.com and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click Register.
- Fill in the required information. Please use your GVSU employee information when filling this out.
- Contact the Surplus Store to request that your account be given tax exemption
- Once you receive confirmation from the Surplus Store, you can make purchases online with your p-card
The University’s sales tax exemption should not be associated with personal accounts. This is in violation of Michigan state sales tax laws. Procurement Services recommends setting up separate accounts for work and personal use.
