The goal I want to reach by being a part of the Student Senate is to positively impact GVSU students by supporting and representing them. I will do this by taking an interest in the challenges students face and coming to a conclusion about how we can improve students' situations. A couple of the issues I want to face on campus are how poverty and social class impact students' education, helping people in the LGBTQ+ community feel represented and heard, and providing an environment for first-generation students to learn and grow. By staying involved I hope to reduce the amount of shame and stigma around issues that arise for GVSU students.
