No Man's Land Film Festival
Join the GVSU Community as we raise awareness of sexual assault by attending the No Man's Land Film Festival.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and the No Man’s Land Film Festival both focus on raising awareness and advocating for gender equity, safety, and justice, though they do so in different ways. Tying them together emphasizes the shared goal of challenging harmful narratives and fostering dialogue about women's rights, safety, and representation.
No Man’s Land Film Festival highlights the voices and stories of women and other non conforming athletes, with a particular focus on outdoor adventure, sports, and other typically male-dominated fields. By centering women’s experiences, the festival amplifies voices that have often been marginalized, fostering an environment where gender equality can thrive.
By combining the themes of awareness, empowerment, and challenging harmful norms, both Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the No Man's Land Film Festival work toward creating a more just and equitable world where women's voices are valued, their safety is prioritized, and their potential is limitless. These two initiatives can amplify each other by creating spaces for important conversations about the realities women face, both in terms of violence and in pushing boundaries in the face of adversity.
