Robinson Elementary
Project Description:
Our students researched and learned about native plants and pollinator gardens. They had experts come in and prepared questions to ask them. The students then designed a layout for an outdoor learning classroom that will be encircled by a native and pollinator garden. The students evaluated positives and negatives of different layouts, chose several top layouts, and presented those layouts to other members of the school community.
Fostering Lifelong Stewardship:
I feel the students gained confidence in student led learning. I saw their confidence grow as they did their own research on plants. Then it grew even more as they evaluated different layouts and weighed pros and cons of different plants being put in the space.
