My Internship Experience at Corewell Health

Major: Computer Science During my internship at Corewell Health, I have undertaken a variety of challenging and impactful projects that align with my role as a Revenue Cycle Intern, focusing on enhancing operational efficiencies and data management within the healthcare finance sector. 1. sFTP Management System Enhancement One of my major projects involved enhancing the sFTP management system to ensure secure and efficient data transfers across different platforms, including AutoMate, GoAnywhere, and MoveIT. My responsibilities included developing action plans for managing sFTP operations, which involves mapping file transfers, handling file abends, requesting new ftp job, and maintain job master files. This required rigorous data collection and auditing to ensure that all the jobs were accurately logged, and any issues were swiftly addressed. My role was pivotal in setting up verification processes to ensure data integrity across all systems, significantly reducing data discrepancies and improving the reliability of our financial reporting. 2. Advanced Analytics and Dashboard Creation In another significant project, I utilized Tableau to create scorecard dashboards that track vendor performance against predefined SLAs and Key Metrics. This involved designing interactive dashboards that allowed users to upload information and track metrics in real-time, providing our team with actionable insights to make data-driven decisions. The development of these dashboards required a deep understanding of data analytics, proficiency in Tableau, and medical terminologies. 3. SharePoint Site Development I also led the creation of the ýCorewell Health Revenue Rookiesý SharePoint site, a comprehensive resource hub designed to support current and future Revenue Cycle interns. This project involved managing the entire development process from conceptualization to launch, including content curation, layout design, and feature integration. The overall outcome was a group success. We were able to create a platform where all interns are posting up our experience, learnings, and any new thing we learned and this site would act as a medium for all the upcoming interns, fostering a supportive learning environment. 4. Professional Certificate Complementing my project work, I pursued and achieved several Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) certifications, including Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI), and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), HFMAýs flagship certification. These certifications have not only broadened my knowledge base but also directly contributed to my effectiveness in handling complex financial management tolls within the internship.

Implemented a user-friendly interface and comprehensive resources to facilitate smooth integration into the company culture and workflows, ensuring a positive and productive start for newcomers. c)Database Migration and Warehousing for clients of VanData Consulting specializing in cold chain packaging and industrial insulation. d)Business Intelligence Training: Conducted comprehensive training sessions to equip new interns and employees with essential skills and knowledge in business intelligence tools and methodologies. These sessions covered topics such as data analysis, report generation, and dashboard development, empowering interns to contribute effectively to projects and initiatives within the organization. e)Onboarding New Employees and Interns: Led the onboarding process for incoming employees and interns, overseeing orientation sessions and providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and culture. Implemented strategies to ensure seamless integration into teams and projects, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment conducive to professional growth and development.

Major: Computer Science My primary responsibilities include curating research papers, developing a user-friendly AIchatbot, enhancing its functionality with NLP techniques, integrating it into our data analysis workflow, leading the development of an in-house data analysis system, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user training sessions, and continually improving both the chatbot and data analysis system based on user feedback.

Tech Defender's Data Migration

Major: Computer Science Tech Defenders recently switched to a new instance of their cloud storage. One of my main tasks was to migrate this data. I pulled it from their Net Suite instance, and then built a new Postgres database with Google Cloud SQL to move their data to. After the data was moved, I built a front end with R-Shiny so that the other employees could easily access the old data.

Fun at UFPI

Major: Computer Science My task for this summer was to create maintenance tables that the plants would use, from shipment tables and mileage rates, to tax rates and margins.

Software Associate Position

Major: Computer Science I worked with another Associate (Intern) on some internal projects for Michigan Labs. We built new features for their Vue web application that they use to keep track of all the scheduling and hours and time tracking for employees. Some of the features I worked on included building slack notifications based off requirements and sending emails with specific reporting results. I worked mostly with python and the backend side of things.

IT Internship

Reid
Major: Computer Science Created several different webpages that worked with PHP, html, MySQL and Microsoft Sequel. Also maintaining all the electrical devices in the office and shop ranging from computers to printers. Another project was researching and getting quotes on a new phone VOIP phone system.
