Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month! There are a variety of ways to engage and support women this month; just find the way that speaks to you! The National Women's History Alliance celebrates the collective strength of women who dedicate their lives to education, mentorship, and leadership for generations past and present with this year's theme: Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations.
Critical Dates
Founded by the National Institute for Women of Color or the N.I.W.C. (which has since become inactive), International Women of Color Day celebrates the contributions and achievements of diverse women of color.
The gender pay gap is real, persistent, and harmful to women's financial well-being, and at the current rate, won't close until 2088. Come to understand the importance of Equal Pay Day. We will share some of the research being done to support good practices and policies that help put women on par with men, showing how pay equity is good for business. Learn about the policy that you can support to ensure equal pay for all women. And we'll share resources for how folks might be empowered to advocate for themselves whether that's in learning to negotiate for better pay or in supporting programs aimed at closing wage, STEM, and leadership gaps that indirectly impact pay equity. Harriet Tubman Day remember the heroic actions of this great woman, a former slave who fought tirelessly to free other slaves by assisting them in fleeing their captors, and honor her work by fighting racism wherever you see it.

Women’s involvement in the judiciary is critical to ensure adequate representation, proper response to women's concerns, and that competent decisions are issued. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is reserved for paying special tribute to the 9 million Americans who served during the Vietnam War era and to those who never received the recognition they deserved.
Transgender Day of Visibility is dedicated to recognizing the resilience and accomplishments of this community, raising awareness about the struggles they face, and advocating for more protected rights in a bid to reform society and empower their community. It also serves as an opportunity to reinforce the fact that allies and supporters of Women's History Month inclusively advocate for all female-identifying persons.

- We invite you to read the 2024 Women in the Workplace report, the largest study on the state of women in corporate America. In 2015, McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.Org launched the study to give companies insights and tools to advance gender diversity in the workplace.
- This is the 10th-anniveray report, and while women have made meaningful gains, they are modest. Women still remain underrepresented across each stage of the corporate pipeline regardless of race and ethnicity. Women face the most significant barriers at the beginning of the pipeline, particularly women of color.
- March is also recognized as Expanding Girls’ Horizons in Science and Engineering Month. The Expanding Your Horizons Network, is all about helping young girls develop more interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) throughout their educational careers; honoring those whose history has been overlooked and encouraging equal pay; resource access to underrepresented populations; and diversity among marginalized groups.
