Some of these tasks included putting winter/spring schedules into ScheduleStar which is website that we use for all scheduling, I put summer camps onto Byron Centers website for parents to sign their kids up at, I attended board meetings with Brady and got to meet other ADs in the conference, I also got to attend coaches meetings about how to handle a variety of situations including hiring as well as moving players up to varsity. Finally I was helping put on Roundball Bash which is a large annual event at BCHS to fundraise money

During my time as an intern, the main programs that I worked with were youth and adult basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and softball. I also had the opportunity to work a couple of non-sport activities such as the daddy daughter dance and mother son date. I was responsible for finding contacts to send out marketing promotions to in order to increase program participation. I was also a site supervisor for the basketball programs to ensure everything was running smoothly. Lastly, I gained experience in selling sponsorship.

I worked day to day operations as well as some of the evening event. One specific project that I worked on was the 50th anniversary celebration. I had to go back through 50 years of yearbooks and type up a roster for boys cross country, football, and sideline cheer. This roster was then presented to each fan at the gate of the football game.

My Main duties were on game days where I would help set up courts for Basketball or women's and co-ed volleyball. I made sure games ran smoothly and kept score and stats when needed. I helped teams fill out paperwork, and made sure that teams knew when their next games were and directed them to where they played. I also helped with Youth sports and that at times was a little more challenging dealing with parents. I helped run a kinder league class a couple times and supervised games and made sure no kids got hurt and parents did not get too rowdy.

Sport Internship at the YMCA

I was in charge of the setup and tear down of equipment for both the youth and men's basketball league, as well as managing the scorekeepers and referees during the games. I also assisted in running a free baseball league for the innercity kids of Grand Rapids, MI. My tasks were to attract clients, data entry, manage equipment and uniforms, collect gloves from the glove drive, manage the coaches and umpires, and to follow the state's regulations while passing out free meals to the kids after the games.

As an operations intern I had a variety of tasks. Some of the ice duties were zamming the ice, edging and chipping, figure eights, replace boards, make blade changes, and check the depth of the ice throughout the rink. A few operation duties not dealing with the ice were painting marks throughout the rink, compressor scada system training, use floor scrubbers, and know how to operate the refrigeration units.

I filled internal/external ticket requests for events at the Enterprise Center. I assisted in ticket resolution issues during events at Enterprise Center/Stifel Theatre in the box office. Helping to set price codes, event and ticket interfaces.

Gazelle Sports Young Athletes Intern

I was the Gazelle Sports Young Athlete Intern. I did a lot in this role. I was in contact with a great deal of high school coaches in west Michigan. I setting team nights with these coaches. During the team nights, when all the athletes are at gazelle, fit the athletes for shoes, spikes, and other running essentials. I had a chance to get some real hands on time with these athletes and hope to ignite a fire for the sport of track and field for so many young athletes. I also represented Gazelle Sports at many track meets where I tried to ignite the fire for young athletes and hopefully have a chance to motivate the kids. I also did all I could to make our young athlete program better.

In the marketing department for athletics, we are responsible for fulfilling promotional and sponsorship contracts, develop marketing strategies to engage with students, and execute those marketing plans on game days.

Griffins Corporate Sales Intern

My day to day tasks were split into two different categories based on what I was in the office for. For my "office hours" I was tasked with different data entries for donations and promotional inquiries. I was also in charge of the Griffins Kids Club where we organized memberships and created packages for the kids that signed up. Other "office hours" activities included preparing the promotional giveaways that happened for each game. For the days that we had games, we would often show up several hours before puck drop to set of the arena. This meant hanging banners, signs, rolling shirts, preparing coupons, setting up promotional tables, allocating promotional material to different areas and departments. During the game we would be tasked with different game time events and activities such as t-shirt toss, the smoke show before the game, Zamboni riders and much more. This was a fast paced and incredibly fun environment! I was also given the opportunity to put on the Griff Costume and make various different appearances for different videos and events.

As Frostburg State University transitions from NCAA Division III to NCAA Division II, I am heavily involved in the application process. Some areas of responsibility include: assembling necessary documents to comply with NCAA application standards and recording the transition process by documenting meeting minutes and timeline. I also provided support at all home football games as the Department implemented new ticketing procedures.
App State Campus Recreation Summer Internship

While working as the aquatics intern, I was fully in charge of creating the schedules for swim lessons all summer long. I ran the Safety Around Water(SAW) program, and I was the person to go to if anyone had any questions about the SAW program, group swim lessons, and private lessons. I also joined the Lifeguard Competition committee! I have been working hard alongside some higher-ups in our association to create a fun competition for our association's lifeguards to show off their skills to win prizes to take home to their specific branches.
