General Senator Candidates 2025
Make campus a more inclusive and representative space for students. Interested in Allocations specifically, promoting student organizations on campus.
My name is William Laurin, I am a freshman here at GVSU and I have been a senator since my first semester. I am studying international relations and political science, and hope to one day work in government service somewhere. I come from a smaller town called Dexter near Ann Arbor, and GVSU was my first experience away from home. Since I have moved here, I have met some incredible people and participated in some great experiences. I have had the opportunity to volunteer in many communities here on campus and off, and one of the most wonderful things I've had the pleasure of seeing operate here is the allocations committee. Having a front row seat to different student organizations every week has been a highlight of my time on senate, and has truly made GVSU feel vibrant and student oriented. My goal during my time at GVSU (outside of my academic endeavors) is to further my involvement in senate, and to further project the voices of students who might not feel heard.
