Candidate Bio

My name is Evan Jackson, and I am running for Student Senate to continue advocating for real, student-driven change on campus. This past year, I had the privilege of serving as an executive on Student Senate as the first-ever Chief of Staff. In this role, I helped lead internal operations, strengthen accountability, and push initiatives directly impacting students. During my time in Student Senate, I spearheaded the Student Solutions Summit, an event hosted by Student Senate, giving students a platform to voice concerns and collaborate on solutions. I also authored and passed the Digital Student ID Legislation, a step toward modernizing campus accessibility and convenience. This initiative will allow students to access campus facilities, dining halls, and other university services directly from their phones. This legislation makes everyday campus life more accessible and user-friendly by reducing the need for physical ID cards. Beyond these efforts, I have worked to increase transparency within Student Senate, ensuring that decisions are made with student input and that our initiatives lead to tangible outcomes. If elected, I will continue my work, ensuring that the Student Senate is transparent, action-oriented, and truly representative of the student body. I want to strengthen communication between students and administration, continue improving and promoting our campus resources, and hold both Student Senate and University leadership accountable for promises made to students. I believe that Student Senate should deliver real results, not just discussions. I look forward to the opportunity to build on our progress and make an even more significant impact in the year ahead.
